Christopher Gilmore,MD

Dr. Gilmore is a pain physician at The Center for Clinical Research and Carolinas Pain Institute. Dr. Christopher A. Gilmore, a magna cum laude graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis. He then completed a residency in anesthesiology at the University of Tennessee Medical Center at Knoxville and fellowship training in pain medicine at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He obtained board certification in 2007.

He actively participates in the training of anesthesia residents and fellows and is well-versed in medication management, interventional techniques, peripheral nerve and spinal cord stimulation, and intrathecal drug delivery.
Dr. Gilmore is best known for his breadth of knowledge and engaging personality. His pleasant, reassuring bedside manner enables him to effectively maintain trusting physician-patient relationships. Dr. Gilmore and Dr. Kapural launched Queen City Clinical Research Center together in April 2024.

Leonardo Kapural, M.D., Ph.D.

Leo Kapural, M.D., Ph.D., is a Pain Physician at the Carolinas Pain Institute and Center for Clinical Research. He is also a member of the clinical faculty at Florida Atlantic University Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine. Dr. Kapural served as a Professor of Anesthesiology at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, Case Western University, and Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Dr. Kapural is an active member of several professional organizations and an invited speaker to many national and international meetings. He served as Director-At-Large of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, the International Neuromodulation Society, and the North American Neuromodulation Society.

Dr. Kapural’s experience is broad and encompasses teaching and clinical education, extensive research, and innovations in the area of pain treatments which brought him two Innovator Awards. His noteworthy research findings have been published in more than 200 journal articles, more than 400 abstracts, three books, and 40 book chapters. He has continuously been listed by his peers in the “Best Doctors in America” and is the founder of Bestopiniondoctor.com, a chronic pain second opinion platform.
